| About the Artist:
Jordan West was born 1969 in Wyoming, United States. He works with painting, drawing and text. After studying as an honors student in Evolutionary Social Psychology at the City University of New York-Hunter College he began painting-teaching himself history, theory and technique. He is a self-taught artist. He was a resident at the Stichting CrawlSpace Artist Residency in Amsterdam, Holland, awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and was recently commissioned to create the architectural design and plans for a private residence. He has exhibited with Thatcher Projects in NYC, Pentimenti Gallery in Philadelphia, Kenise Barnes Fine Art in New York, Richard Levy Gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, The Center for Contemporary Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico and at Contemporary Art Fairs in Miami, San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. He recently presented his artist books and delivered a performative lecture entitled Rhetoric: A Conceptual Appropriation in Sofia, Bulgaria. His artist books are published by Interbang Press. He currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States. |
