22.25 inches x 28 inches (first entry within stamp series) Leslie Tucker offers an analysis of the American Dream put forth in a series of photomontage stamp works that commemorate ordinary objects, places and historic moments in our culture that are iconic markers charting our sociopolitical development (for better or for worse). The artist composes her pet peeves and the things associated with them like a playwright casts plays. To Tucker, ordinary objects become her palette of characters who get hired, or not, to act out her cultural vision. Her charge is to pair the ordinary with social meaning, and build compelling visual plots that reveal dualistic struggles on a grander scale.
